Dundee United boss Craig Levein has seen his side slip to three consecutive losses against Gretna, Celtic and now Motherwell. The recent run of losses seriously hurts Dundee's European ambitions. Hearts on the other hand have slipped dangerously close to the drop zone following a recent run of wretched results. The side has drawn three and lost six of their last 10 games. Their last win in the SPL came against Aberdeen way back in early November.

In their last game Hearts were trounced 2-1 by Falkirk at the Falkirk Stadium. This was their fifth consecutive loss. Goals from Carl Finnigan and Michael Higdon ensured three points for Falkirk after the visitors had gone ahead in the 27th minute with a goal from Ruben Palazuelos.

The loss sees Hearts sit on the 10th spot of the SPL table with 20 points from as many games. Hearts assistant head coach Stephen Frail is a concerned man and despite the players themselves having a frank discussion, things have been downhill at the club.
