Tune into free-football.tv to catch all live European football action. Deportivo LaCoruna have slipped into an early relegation battle and will be hoping to achieve some decent results in the New Year as they welcome Athletico Madrid to the Riazor this weekend.

Deportivo coach Miguel Angel Lotina would have been relieved by the 1-0 win over Levante just before the Christmas break. The win came courtesy a late penalty from Gonzalez Sergio and eased the pressure on Lotina, whose position is threatened following a spell of poor results in the Spanish Primera Liga.

Deportivo have won just two of their last 10 games and sit on the 19th spot on the La Liga table with 17 points from as many games. The win over Levante in their last live La Liga match took them to within one point of the safety zone.

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid were shocked in their last La Liga clash as they went down 1-2 to Espanyol at home. The Rojiblancos were left with just nine men on the field following the sending off of Sergio Aguero and Mariano Pernia.

Simão had given them an early lead at the Vicente Calderon, but Raul Tamudo equalized in the 53rd minute and a late winner from Spain striker Luis Garcia meant Athletico slipped to their first loss in five La Liga games.

Athletico will be without Sergio Aguero and Mariano Pernia for the Deportivo clash. Coach Javier Aguirre is also without his first choice goalkeeper Leo Franco, who sustained a torn quadriceps muscle on December 2 against Real Betis. Athletico Madrid are fifth on the league table with 31 points from 17 games.

Last season this fixture ended in a 1-0 win for the hosts. Watch Deportivo LaCoruna vs Athletico Madrid Live on free-football.tv, the Internet's number one source for live football feeds.
