Deportivo on the other hand will be looking to register their fifth successive win in the La Liga. The Galician club has spent much of the season in relegation zone, but are now potential candidates for the Intertoto Cup.

In their last game, Barca were held to a 0-0 draw by Espanyol. This sent them to the 3rd place with 61 points from 33 games. The least Rijkaard will want is to secure a direct qualification for the Champions League next season.

Rijkaard will be boosted by the return of Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry although Ronaldinho is out injured. Last season this fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, but Barcelona defeated Deportivo 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
