Denmark qualified as group winners from their UEFA round of world cup qualification. While that would give them a high degree of confidence going into what is a tough South African sojourn, the Danish fans will be worried about the number of injuries to key players in recent times.

A second string Denmark squad was held to a lackluster 0-0 draw by South Korea over the weekend. Denmark coach Morten Olsen admitted that his side needed to tighten up for tougher battles ahead.

However he would have been pleased with his side's resilience as they were missing seven first team regulars including striker Nicklas Bendtner in this game.

Meanwhile the United States lost 1-0 to Slovakia in a friendly game at Bratislava over the weekend thanks to a lone goal from the penalty spot by Marek Hamsik.

The United States had also rested first team regulars like Landon Donovan and goalkeeper Tim Howard for this game. Coach Bob Bradley was pretty happy with how his team fared, but added that they needed to tighten up their midfield area.

Oguchi Onyewu, Jay DeMerit and Chad Marshall will not feature in this game either due to injuries.
