The Danish side are tipped to secure at least a place in the knockout stage though there are hopes that Morten Olsen’s side can go far in the competition should they play to their potential. The Denmark coach will be keen to assess some of his fringe players before naming his 23-man squad that will take part in the World Cup next month.

Malaga defender Patrick Mtiliga is expected to start the game with Olsen stating that he has been impressed with the 29-year old. IFK Goteborg’s Kim Christensen is likely to start in between the sticks with Olsen expected to give more time to Thomas Sorensen to recover from his dislocated elbow.

Meanwhile Senegal coach Amara Traore will be looking to help his side put behind the disappointment of last year and display another good performance when they play Denmark on Thursday. Senegal failed to qualify for the World Cup and the African Nations Cup leading to the appointment of Traore as the new coach of the national team.
