The Reds need to beat Debrecen and hope that Fiorentina do not win against Lyon if they are to have any hopes of progressing to the knockout stages. A disappointing group stage campaign so far has seen Liverpool collect just four points from their first four games and the club is in serious danger of becoming one of the most high profile sides to miss out on a knockout stage berth this season.

Liverpool needed to beat Lyon in their last game and a Ryan Babel goal late in 83rd minute looked to have handed all three points for the English side. However Lisandro Lopez had other ideas with the Argentina striker popping up late in injury time to snatch an equalizer for his side.

Manager Rafa Benitez has had to deal with injuries to key players as well. While Fernando Torres is definitely out of contention, Glen Johnson, Fabio Aurelio, Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera are still short of fitness due to various injuries.

Meanwhile Debrecen coach Andras Herczeg will be optimistic that his side can take advantage of Liverpool's poor run of form and spring an upset on Tuesday. The Hungarian side have lost all of their four matches so far in the group stage but twice have come close to securing at least a point.

One of those occasions was against Liverpool in the opening group match with Dirk Kuyt's goal being the only difference between the two sides. Now with the club having the home advantage, Herczeg will be hopeful that his side can finally break their duck in the group stages of the competition.
