Czech Republic face a must win match against Slovenia on Wednesday with anything less than three points would mean that their hopes of qualifying to the World Cup finals would become an uphill task. Watch all the live international soccer here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Tipped to finish top of their group, Czech are off to a poor start in their qualifying campaign and have collected just one point from their first two matches. Petr Rada's side started their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Northern Ireland and followed it up with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Poland on Saturday.

Pawel Brozek scored the opening goal of the match midway through the first half to put Poland in the lead before Jakub Blaszczykowski doubled the lead for the hosts eight minutes into the second half. Czech pulled one back through Martin Fenin late in the 87th minute and though the visitors tried to snatch a late equalizer, Poland hung on to claim all three points from the clash that saw them maintain their position at the top of the league table.

 

 

Slovenia on the other hand will be high on confidence following a good start to their qualifying campaign that has seen them collect seven points from their first three matches. Slovenia followed up on their 2-1 win over Slovakia with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Northern Ireland on Saturday with Milivoje Novakovic and Zlatan Ljubijankic on target late in the game.

Coach Matjaz Kek will be aware that a victory against Czech Republic on Wednesday will put his side in a very strong position to finish in the two qualifying positions from the group and provide them with a great chance to qualify for their first World Cup finals only for the second time in four attempts.
