After a goalless first half, the match burst into life on the hour mark when Stanislav Sestak put the hosts ahead. Genk midfielder Daniel Pudil responded for the Czechs eight minutes later, but Slovakia went ahead on 73 minutes when Marek Hamsik scored from the spot after Jaroslav Plasil had fouled Radoslav Zabavnik in the box. Hamsik was sent off just two minutes after scoring, and the Czechs made their numerical superiority count six minutes from time when substitute Milan Baros headed home from a corner. It was however a poor result for Narodni Tim, who remain second from bottom in their group with nine points from seven games. San Marino have had a disastrous campaign so far, losing all their eight qualifying games. They have also managed to score just once, and have shipped in thirty seven goals so far, at an average of nearly five a game. San Marino were hammered 5-0 by Slovenia in their last World Cup qualifier. West Brom midfielder Robert Koren netted a brace, with Alexsandar Radosavljevic, Andraz Kirm and Zlatan Lubijankic scoring the other three. When the two teams met in November 2008, the Czechs won 3-0 thanks to goals from Radoslav Kovac, Zdenek Pospech and Tomas Necid. Will be it another goal fest for the Czechs, or will San Marino restore some lost pride?
