Cyprus play the Czech Republic in their final Euro 2008 qualifier at the GSP stadium in Nicosia on November 21. Cyprus will want to secure a win and finish in the fourth spot on the Group D qualification table.

However they will still be reeling from their 4-0 loss to Germany in Hanover on November 17. Goals from Clemens Fritz, Miroslav Klose, Lucal Podolski and Thomas Hitzlsperger sealed the win for the German team, which has already qualified for the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland next year.

Cyprus coach Angelos Anastasiadis has named striker Michalis Konstantinou in his squad for the first time since the 3-1 win over Wales last month. Estathios Aloneftis is back after serving a one-match suspension against the Republic of Ireland.

Czech Republic on the other hand can afford to take the Cyprus clash easy having already qualified for the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland next June. However the Czechs will want to finish on top of Group D and a win over Cyprus will secure that regardless of Germany's result in their last game.

Czech Republic beat Slovakia 3-1 on November 17 to maintain top spot. Goals from Zdeněk Grygera, Marek Kulič and Tomáš Rosický nullified the own goal by Michal Kadlec to give the Czech Republic a deserved win.

Goalkeeper Petr Čech and left-back Marek Jankulovski missed the Slovakia clash with injuries and are expected to be out of the Cyprus clash as well. Coach Karel Brückner has called up Daniel Zítka from RSC Anderlecht as cover for Czech, while Michal Kadlec replaces Jankulovski.
