Croatia will look to stay in contention for the top spot in Group Six of the European world cup qualifying campaign when they play Ukraine at the Stadion Maksimir on Saturday. You can watch all the live soccer from that game by signing up with us here on Live Sport Network.
Croatia have 10 points from their five games having secured three wins, a loss and a draw in their campaign so far. The loss against England saw them droop to the second spot in the group and manager Slaven Bilic will want his side to stay as close to England as possible as the campaign enters the home stretch in the next few months.
In their last World Cup qualifying game in April, Croatia beat Andorra 2-0 thanks to goals from Ivan Klasnic and Eduardo Da Silva.
The main talk in the summer has been of manager Bilic leaving to take up a coaching role at Celtic, but he has insisted his job is not over with the national team as yet.
On the other hand, Ukraine have had a mixed campaign collecting seven points from their four games. These include two wins, a loss and a draw.
In their last game, Ukraine lost to England by a 2-1 margin. Andriy Shevchenko had put them ahead, but goals from Wayne Rooney and John Terry allowed England to collect maximum points from this game.
Ukraine coach Oleksiy Mykhailychenko will hope his stars like Andriy Shevchenko and Andriy Voronin will have a point to prove when they take on Croatia. A win for Ukraine will see them level on points with the former and could make for an interesting second half of the campaign.
