Croatia will hope to put behind their disappointment at their failure to qualify for the World Cup 2010 when they take on minnows Lichtenstein in an international friendly at the Maksimir Stadium on Saturday. Croatia narrowly missed qualifying for the world cup after they finished behind the Ukraine in the Group Six of the European round of qualifiers. Manager Slaven Bilic will be hurting from that and will want his side to start preparing for their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

Many pundits expected Bilic to resign and move on and the former West Ham defender has admitted he was offered the Poland job. However he has decided to stick with the national team and has made it clear he wants to stay on.

Bilic said injuries to key players like Eduardo, Petric, Luka Modric and Niko Kranjcar undermined their campaign. He will hope his star players can stay fit for the upcoming games and also for the Euro campaign.

Eduardo is back after a lengthy lay-off and Modric is also said to be nearing a return although he will not feature in this one.

Meanwhile Lichtenstein finished at the bottom of their qualifying group managing just 2 draws and losing 8 of their 10 games. The side will hope to use this match to prepare for tougher battles ahead.
