Croatia advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a clean record of three wins in three games. Coach Slaven Bilic seems to have created a tough unit that overcame Austria 1-0, Germany 2-1 and Poland 1-0 in their three games.

With Luka Modric and Ivica Olic in fine form, Bilic will hope his side can go all the way. The good news is that even a second string Croatia side managed to overhaul Poland with Ivan Klasnic returning from his kidney transplant with a bang as he scored the winner in that game.

Turkey stormed into the quarterfinals with a superlative 3-2 win over Czech Republic. The Czechs had gone ahead 2-0 thanks to goals from Jan Koller and Jaroslav Plasil. However Ardan Turan pulled one back before Nihat Kahveci pushed the Turks into the next stage with two goals.

Czech keeper Petr Cech was responsible for the second goal as it was his mistake that gave Nihat Kahveci a chance to score.

Turkey coach Fatih Terim has injury concerns ahead of this game with Captain Emre Belozoglu, Emre Gungor and Tumer Metin struggling with injuries. Furthermore goalkeeper Volkan Demirel is out after he was sent off for shoving Jan Koller in injury time.
