New boss Guus Hiddink has expressed hope that his side can stop United from achieving an unprecedented quintuple this season. The Blues beat Watford 1-3 in the fifth round match to make it to this stage. Nicolas Anelka's hat-trick ensured that the early lead given to the Hornets by Tamas Priskin proved to be in vain. Anelka has been in red-hot form this season and his goal scoring ability has proved to be vital in Chelsea staying in the hunt for some silverware.

Ricardo Carvalho is missing again due to a hamstring injury, while Michael Essien has recovered from his injury and could take some part in this game. Hiddink could rest some star players in this game to keep them fresh for the upcoming Champions League tie against Juventus, which Chelsea lead by 1-0.
