The Championship side was just seconds away from claiming a famous victory against their Premier League opponents after an excellent performance saw them cancel out Roque Santa Cruz's early goal through Aron Gunnarsson before taking the lead through Michael Doyle. However with just seconds remaining on the clock, Christopher Samba grabbed the equalizer to push the tie into a replay.

Coventry will be confident of springing a surprise on Blackburn on Tuesday with the Sky Blues finding some sort of form with two wins in their last three matches and go into the fixture on the back of a determined performance that saw them collect all three points against promotion candidates Birmingham City on the weekend.

 

 

Blackburn meanwhile will be looking to take some positives from their disappointing 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in their league encounter on Saturday. The Rovers became the first Premier League club to breach the United defense in the last 15 matches and came very close to coming away from Old Trafford with a point only for some brilliance from Cristiano Ronaldo dashing their hopes of a positive result.

Blackburn have not won at the Ricoh Arena since their 2-0 win back in 1992-93 season and have since then lost three of their last six visits to Coventry City.
