Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known by their nickname Chivas, have never been relegated from the Mexican Premier Division. They only field players born in Mexico- their current team does not have a single foreigner in it. Chivas are also the most successful Mexican club in international football.

The Mexican club and Manchester United have already done business in 2010. Rising star Javier Hernandez moved from Chivas to the Red Devils and is expected to play against his former team mates in this fixture. This friendly was part of the deal that brought Chicharito from Chivas to Old Trafford.
