The Blues suffered a shock 4-2 defeat at home to Manchester City in their last league match. With Manchester United winning against Wolves last weekend, Chelsea have dropped down to second in the league table though they do have a game in hand over their title rivals.

Chelsea have bounced back from their disappointing performance with a 2-0 win against Stoke City to book a place in the FA Cup semi finals and manager Carlo Ancelotti will be keen to reclaim his side’s place at the top of the table for at least a day with United not playing till Sunday. Chelsea are missing a number of key players with Deco, Michael Essien and Ricardo Carvalho doubtful for the game against West Ham while Petr Cech is still out of action for at least another three weeks.

Meanwhile West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola will be looking to shrug off the speculation over his future with the club and hope that his side will put up another good performance against Chelsea. The Hammers had held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw early this season and with his side still in danger of relegation, Zola will be hopeful of collecting a vital point this weekend.
