The Blues have needed a replay against Southend United in the third round but have since then won all of the five games including a 3-1 win over Watford in the fifth round. Chelsea almost suffered a shock defeat to Everton in the final after going behind thanks to an early goal through Louis Saha. However Didier Drogba equalized midway through the first half before Frank Lampard grabbed the winner with just 19 minutes to spare.

Drogba will be unavailable for selection with the Ivory Coast striker off to the African Cup of Nations along with Salomon Kalou, John Obi Mikel and Michael Essien. Manager Carlo Ancelotti played down the importance of missing his key players by saying that the squad is strong enough to cope with the absences and that he has full faith in his young players. Youngsters Daniel Sturridge, Gael Kakuta and Fabio Borini are expected to start the game along with Nicolas Anelka who has recovered from his calf injury.

Meanwhile Watford will be hoping to finally snap out of their losing streak against Chelsea this weekend. Watford have lost all of the four matches against the Blues including a 3-1 loss in the fifth round of the FA Cup last season.

With his side just five points behind the play-offs place in the Championship, manager Malky Mackay is expected to rest some of his key players ahead of a tough match at home to Sheffield United next weekend.
