Claudio Ranieri makes a return to Stamford Bridge when his Juventus side takes on Chelsea in their knockout stage match on Wednesday. Watch all the live Champions League action here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

The Italian boss was sacked by Roman Abrahimovic after guiding Chelsea to a second placed finish in the league and will be looking to prove his former boss wrong by dumping the Blues out of a competition held very dear by the Chelsea hierarchy. However Ranieri will be aware that his Juventus players will have to be at their best in the first leg with Chelsea not tasting defeat at Stamford Bridge in more than 15 European games.

The last time Chelsea were beaten at home was back in February 2006 when Barcelona secured a 2-1 win but the Blues have won all of their home games in the group stage. Guus Hiddink started his short reign at Chelsea with a 1-0 win away to Aston Villa in the Premier League with Nicolas Anelka scoring the winner and the Russian manager will be hoping to maintain his winning start with a convincing victory over Juventus on Wednesday.

 

 

Juventus meanwhile will be looking to extend their good form in the competition that has seen them secure victories over Real Madrid in both the group games and end the group stage at the top of the table. The Italian side traditionally poor travelers in the knockout stages and have lost all of their last six away matches in this stage. Their last away win came back in 2003 when a Marcello Lippi coached side secured a 2-1 win against Barcelona to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory in the quarter finals.
