The Blues have had an excellent America tour so far, winning all of their three friendlies including wins over Inter Milan and AC Milan in this tournament. Having secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Inter Milan in their first game, Chelsea were made to work by manager Carlo Ancelotti's former club.

Chelsea had taken the lead early in the first half with Didier Drogba scoring his second goal in as many matches but Milan struck back eight minutes from the half time whistle with Clarence Seedorf equalizing for the Italians. However new signing Yuri Zhirkov scored his first goal for his new club midway through the second half to secure the win.

Chelsea will now need to avoid defeat against Club America to finish at the top of the tournament table and Ancelotti will be giving some of his fringe players a chance to impress as he assesses his squad depth with the new season just a fortnight away.

 

 

Club America on the other hand have had an excellent tournament so far. The Mexican club held Inter Milan to a 1-1 draw before sneaking the win through penalty shootout before securing a narrow 2-1 win over AC Milan in their next match.

While his club is not expected to continue their impressive form against Chelsea, America coach Jesus Ramirez will nonetheless be pleased with his side's performances in the two games and will be hoping to build on them in the domestic league next season.
