The Blues shrugged off their Champions League disappointment in style last week when they overcame Arsenal by a 4-1 margin at the Emirates Stadium. Goals from Alex, Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda gave Chelsea a great win, while their other goal was granted courtesy Kolo Toure who out the ball in his own net. A late flourish from Nicklas Bendtner secured what was not even a consolation goal for Arsenal, who were booed by fans toward the end of the game.

Chelsea tightened their grip on the third spot on the Premier League table and will be at hand to move up should Liverpool stumble in their last two games. Manager Guus Hiddink may rest his top names for this game with one eye on the FA Cup final against Everton, but the Dutchman will want his side to finish as high up the table as possible.

Meanwhile Blackburn Rovers all but secured top flight status for the next season at least with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth last week. Goals from Morten Gamst Pedersen and Benni McCarthy gave Blackburn all three points and lifted them to the 14th spot on the league table with 40 points from 36 games.

Manager Sam Allardyce will surely feel his mission is accomplished for this season at least and will look to strengthen his team for the next one. For this game, Roque Santa Cruz and Jason Roberts remain sidelined, but otherwise Allardyce has a full squad at his disposal.
