The Blues were tipped to secure a comfortable victory against struggling City and though they had taken an early lead thanks to an own goal by Emmanuel Adebayor, they were unable to prevent a fight back from City as Adebayor and Carlos Tevez scored to give the hosts all three points from the game. Manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his disappointment from the game but said that he was confident his side will bounce back strongly from the defeat as the season enters the crucial Christmas period.

The defeat saw Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table cut down to just two points though Ancelotti will be hopeful that Manchester United will slip up against a resurgent Aston Villa side this weekend. Chelsea are clear favorites to secure a comfortable victory over a struggling Everton side that has managed to collect just one point from their last four games. The Toffees have lost three of their last four matches and were just 14 minutes away from a fourth straight defeat only for an amazing fight back in the second half that saw them come back from 2-0 down to level the scores against Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton suffered yet another injury blow against Spurs last weekend as Joseph Yobo limped off the field with a hamstring injury. The Toffees have as many as nine first team players out of action with none of the players tipped to recover their fitness for at least another two weeks.
