Celtic managed to win only one of their four pre-season friendlies prior to this fixture. They lost to Philadelphia Union, drew with Sporting Lisbon and beat MLS side Seattle Sounders 2-1. Georgios Samaras and Paddy McCourt were the scorers for the Hoops against Seattle.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon will also have one eye on the all crucial Champions League tie against Portuguese runners up Braga next week. The first leg was played at Estadio AXA a week ago.

Olympique Lyon have also played four pre-season friendlies this season. They beat Swiss side Servette in their first friendly, but could not repeat the feat against Sporting and Italian giants Juventus. Claude Puel’s men were last seen in action against Nottingham Forest.
