The Hoops succumbed to a 2-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday to slip four points below league leaders Rangers. Goals from Michael Stewart and Ismael Bouzid nullified Georgios Samaras' 21st minute strike and gave the Jambos all three points. Stewart's goal resulted from a penalty after Gary Caldwell tackled Jamie Mole in the box. Caldwell was sent off and Stewart scored off the resulting penalty.

Celtic boss Tony Mowbray will hope his team can recover from that loss and keep pace with Rangers ahead of the season's second Old Firm derby on January 3. Niall McGinn is a doubtful starter for this game with a dead leg, but otherwise Mowbray has a fit squad to choose from.

Meanwhile Hamilton have had a week's break after their match against Dundee United was washed off last week. Hamilton Academical are currently on the 9th spot in the league with 16 points from 15 games. Last fortnight they shocked Aberdeen by a 2-1 margin thanks to goals from Mickael Antoine-Curier and James Wesolowski. Aberdeen's lone goal came off Gary McDonald.

Hamilton manager Billy Reid will continue to be without Derek Lyle and James Gibson, but Leon Knight is available after serving a one-match suspension. However goalkeeper Tomas Cerny is a doubtful starter as he is yet to recover from a bad knock to his knee.
