Scottish giants Celtic will kick off the 2009 Wembley Cup when they take on Al Ahly in the opening match of the tournament on Friday. Watch live Wembley Cup matches online at Live Sport Network, the best place to watch all major pre-season games online.

Celtic take on Al Ahly in the first game of the tournament, and will meet Spurs in their other game two days later. These two games are important for the Hoops because they happen just before Celtic's vital third round Champions League qualifier against Russian outfit Dinamo Moscow.

Celtic beat A-League team Brisbane Roar 3-0 in their first friendly of the new season. Australian striker Scott McDonald captained the Hoops in Tony Mowbray's first game in charge at the Suncorp Stadium, and Celtic eased past their opponents 3-0. Kiwi international Chris Killen netted two before half time, and Japanese midfielder Kozi Mizuno added the third shortly after the lemon break.

Al Ahly are the only non European side at the inaugural Wembley Cup. After Celtic, the Egyptian champions will take on Champions League holders Barcelona in their next fixture. They have made six new additions to their squad this summer, and recently signed former DC United striker Francis Doe Forkey.

Al Ahly have already played three friendlies in this month. They started off with a 1-0 loss to Galatasaray, and were then beaten 2-0 by Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. In their most recent fixture, they beat Moroccan side WAC Casablanca 2-0. Both the goals came from converted penalties. Mostafa Shebeita and Mohamed Samir were the successful spot kick takers.
