The Hoops were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by unfancied Ross County, who won 2-0 thanks to goals from Steven Craig and Martin Scott. Celtic boss Neil Lennon expressed his dismay at the result and hoped for a better showing in the SPL.

Celtic are already trailing Rangers by 13 points and with just a handful of games remaining in the season, look set to end this year empty-handed. The Hoops sacked manager Tony Mowbray, but that does not seem to have done any good as far as the performance on the field is concerned.

Meanwhile Motherwell also go into the game on the back of a shock defeat against bottom huggers Falkirk. Ryan Flynn was the lone goal scorer as Falkirk won 0-1 last week. The loss leaves Motherwell on the 5th spot with 48 points from 32 games played so far.
