Cameroon take on Zambia in their next match knowing fully well that only a victory can keep them in the hunt to qualify for the quarter finals of the tournament.

Four time African champions Cameroon suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of defending champions Egypt in their first game as a Hosni Abd Rabou goal followed by a brace by Mohamed Zidan saw them take a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Cameroon tried to stage a come back in the second half and though Samuel Eto'o grabbed two goals, Rabou put the result beyond doubt with his second of the night late in the second half. The result, coupled with Zambia's victory over Sudan means that Cameroon will have to win their remaining two matches if they want to avoid an early elimination from the competition.

Meanwhile Zambia will be looking to maintain their level of performance show during the 3-0 drubbing of Sudan with another victory over Cameroon on Saturday and lift the pressure off a potentially difficult clash against Egypt in their final group match.

Goals from James Chamanga, Jacob Mulenga and Felix Katongo saw them emerge comfortable victors over a poor Sudan team. Zambia will be looking to qualify for the quarter finals of the tournament for the first time since the 1996 edition.
