CSKA Sofia beat Derry City and Dinamo Moscow in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League to reach the group stage. Both the ties were won 2-1 on aggregate by the Army Men.

CSKA drew 0-0 with Pirin Blagoevgrad in their weekend A PFG fixture. The result ended CSKA 100% win record in the league, but they still remain leaders on goal difference from Chernomorets. CSKA are unbeaten in their last eight European fixtures at home- Hamburg were the last side to come away with a win from the Bulgarian Army stadium.

Irish winger Damien Duff scored a late goal at Craven Cottage on Sunday to lift Fulham out of the relegation zone. The London side were poor in the first half, and trailed 1-0 at half time, but produced a strong second half display to register a comeback win. Former Charlton star Paul Konchesky struck the equaliser, while Duff netted the winner on 79 minutes.

Fulham beat Vetra 3-0 in both legs of their third qualifying round tie, and were drawn against Russian side Amkar Perm in the qualifying round. They made full use of home advantage to win the first leg 3-1, thereby allowing them to progress to the group stage despite losing 1-0 in Russia.
