CSKA Sofia suffered their fourth straight defeat in Group E a fortnight ago when they went down to Fulham. Todor Timonov had the first real chance of the game for the Bulgarian side, but it was Fulham who opened the scoring when Zoltan Gera headed in Bjorn Helge Riise’s cross in the fifteenth minute of the game. CSKA raised their game in the second half, but Fulham hung to pick up the win they required.

CSKA have picked up only one point from five games in Group E and are already eliminated. In their last game, they dumped current Bulgarian A PFG leaders Litex Lovech out of the Bulgarian Cup. Spas Delev scored the only goal of the game which was played on Saturday.

Roma avenged their 2-0 loss against Basel on Match Day 1 by beating the Swiss side 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on Match Day 5. The Giallorossi sealed progress into the round of 32 with that victory. They are currently on 10 points from five games. However they could still be overtaken at the top of Group E by either Fulham or Basel should they fail to beat CSKA.

AS Roma went behind against Basel when Benjamin Huggel headed the visitors ahead in the 18^th minute. However a penalty from Francesco Totti and a goal from Montenegrin skipper Mirko Vucinic allowed Claudio Ranieri’s side to claim a 2-1 win. Striker Jeremy Menez is suspended for the visit to the Vasil Levski National Stadium.
