CFR Cluj face a must win match against Italian side AS Roma when the two teams meet in their Champions League group stage clash on Wednesday. Watch all the live streaming soccer here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

After an excellent start to their maiden group stage campaign, defeats in their last two matches mean that Cluj will have to beat Roma if they are to have any hopes of making it to the knockout stages. Manager Maurizio Trombetta will be optimistic of his side's chances after already having defeated the Italian side in Rome in their opening group match.

Christian Panucci had given Roma an early lead in tne 17th minute but a goal in each half from Emmanuel Culio saw Cluj claim a historic win at Stadio Olimpico. The Romanian club followed it up with a credible 0-0 draw against Chelsea at home but defeats in their next two matches to Chelsea and Bordeaux has seen them slip to the bottom of the group table.

 

 

Roma on the other hand have bounced back from that defeat in a positive fashion, winning two of their next three matches including a 3-1 victory at home to Chelsea in their last match. Panucci opened the scoring for the Italian side in the 34th minute while two goals in 10 second half minutes by Mirko Vucinic saw Roma take a comfortable 3-0 lead before John Terry pulled one back for Chelsea 15 minutes from the final whistle.

Roma will all but confirm their place in the knockout stages if they beat Cluj and Bordeaux fail to win against Chelsea later in the day. Roma next welcome Bordeaux in their final group game on December 9 while Cluj face a visit to Chelsea.
