The Romanian champions secured an upset victory away to AS Roma in their first group stage match and will be brimming with confidence over the prospect of repeating the result when they play Chelsea at home on Wednesday.

Roma had taken an early lead through Christian Panucci in the 17th minute but Juan Culio equalized for the visitors before scoring the winner four minutes into the second half. It was Cluj's first win in the Champions League in their debut season and are now in a strong position to challenge for the two qualification spots for the knockout stages.

 

 

They take on a Chelsea side that secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bordeaux in their opening match of the campaign. Frank Lampard and Joe Cole put Chelsea in a 2-0 lead by half time before Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka doubled the two goal advantage in the final eight minutes of the match.

The English club is one of the favorites to win the tournament this season and will be looking to come away with all three points against Cluj. Chelsea go into the match on the back of a hard fought 2-0 win over Stoke City in their league match and manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will be confident that his side can secure the required result on Wednesday.
