CFR Cluj will be looking to avenge their defeat to Bordeaux on Champions League Matchday 3 when they welcome the French club in the return fixture at the Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium on Tuesday. Watch all the footy live here on Live Sport Network.

 

 

Cluj's dream start to the group stages received a serious setback a fortnight ago as they lost out 1-0 away to Bordeaux, with Cluj captain Cadu scoring an own goal nine minutes into the second half. The result meant that Roma, Bordeaux and Cluj still have a great chance to make it to the next round, with just one point separating the three teams.

However Cluj coach Maurizio Trombetta will be hoping to make full use of their home advantage and claim all three points against Bordeaux on Tuesday, which could leave them just two points away from qualifying for the knockout stages from their first ever Champions League group stage campaign.

 

 

Cluj's lone home European game came in their 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Matchday 2 and fans will be confident that their side can build on the performance to register their first Champions League win at home. Prior to this season, Cluj have played just two European matches at home, and both were against French opponents with the result being 1-1 draws.

Meanwhile Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc will be hoping to complete the double over Cluj this Tuesday and put themselves in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages. Bordeaux started their group stage with a 4-0 thrashing by Chelsea and followed it up with a disappointing 3-1 defeat at home against Roma.

 

 

Blanc will be hoping to improve Bordeaux's dismal record in the competition which has seen them win just three of their 17 games so far. With just two goals in three matches so far, Blanc will be expecting improved performances from his attackers if his side is to overcome the final hurdle and beat the odds to qualify for the knockout stages.
