The Clarets have lost all of their four games since Laws was appointed early last month but came very close to snatching an unlikely point against Chelsea last weekend. Steven Fletcher had equalized for Burnley after Nicolas Anelka had but the Blues ahead in the first half.

The Hammers are without a win in their last four games but manager Gianfranco Zola will be hopeful that his deadline day recruits will provide the necessary quality to pull well away from the relegation zone.

West Ham signed Benni McCarthy, Mido and Aruajo Ilan on the final day of the transfer window after missing out on Eidur Gudjohnsen who was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur.

Guillermo Franco, Daniel Gabbidon and Kieron Dyer could return to action for the Hammers after recovering from their injuries.
