The Clarets are four points from safety and will be relegated if they do not win against Liverpool and West Ham manage to collect all three points against Wigan Athletic. Burnley have improved in their last two games, thrashing Hull City 4-1 before putting up a good performance in their narrow loss to Sunderland last weekend.

However with his side set to face Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and a tough trip away to Birmingham City, Brian Laws is aware that his side will have to put up a vastly improved performance for the remainder of the season if they are to have a chance of taking advantage of any slip ups by West Ham.

Liverpool on the other hand will be going all out for a victory with the club still in with a chance of securing a top four finish. The Reds are six points behind fourth placed Tottenham and have played a game more than their immediate rivals. However with both Spurs and Manchester City facing a tough run in to the end of the season, manager Rafa Benitez will be demanding three wins from the remaining three games and sneak into the top four.
