Jay Simpson scored twice and Carlos Vela netted once as a reserve Arsenal side showed a full strength Wigan side the door. The margin of victory could have been greater had Chris Kirkland not produced some excellent saves. Arsene Wenger is likely to persist with his youngsters, which means we will again get to see the likes of Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Simpson and Vela in action.
