Burkina Faso held Ivory Coast to a 0-0 draw in their opening game. The withdrawal of Togo from the competition means that the minnows have a great chance to progress to the quarterfinals should they hold Ghana to a draw. The Stallions manager Paulo Duarte will be well aware of the importance of this game and will hope his defence can withstand the attacking force that is at the disposal of Ghana.

Ghana on their part will look to recover from a shock 3-1 loss to 10-man Ivory Coast in their opening encounter. Goals from Gervinho, Siaka Chico Tiene and Didier Drogba gave the Elephants an emphatic win, while Asamoah Gyan grabbed a lone consolation for the Black Stars.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac will be expecting his side to rise up to the occasion and secure the win that is needed for them to go through to the quarterfinals. Stephen Appiah, John Mensah and Laryea Kingston continue to be doubtful starters for this game as well, but skipper Michael Essien could play some role.

Essien has just recovered from a hamstring injury and joined up on Wednesday with his mates in Angola. The Black Stars were defeated in the 2008 African Nations Cup tournament at the semi-finals and will be keen to go one step further here. However a draw could see their campaign end even before it realistically begins.
