Bolton are in better form than their opponents going into the match on Saturday with the Trotters collecting 12 points from their last 15. In contrast, Chelsea have dropped five points in their last two matches and suffered their second league defeat of the season last weekend with Arsenal emerging 2-1 winners.

Gary Megson's side will be high on confidence following a thumping 4-1 victory away to Sunderland after Bolton had secured a comfortable 3-1 win at Middlesbrough. Djibril Cisse had given Sunderland an early lead but goals from Matthew Taylor and Gary Cahill put Bolton in the lead before a brace from Johan Elmander saw the visitors cruise to a comfortable victory.

 

 

Chelsea on the other hand will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Arsenal last weekend. The Blues looked on course for a customary win at Stamford Bridge after an own goal by Johan Djourou had given them the lead in the first half.

But Arsenal fought back in the second half and managed to equalize, albeit in a controversial manner, through Robin Van Persie before the Dutch striker secured all three points with a second in the 62nd minute.

 

 

The defeat sees Chelsea lose out their top spot in the league table and though they are just one point behind league leaders Liverpool, manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will be expecting a consistent run of form for the remainder of the season as he looks to win Chelsea's first league title in three years.
