Newcastle have collected five points from their last three matches so far and find themselves five points clear of the relegation zone. With caretaker manager Joe Kinnear out of action for the rest of the season with heart surgery, the Newcastle board confirmed that they will not be appointing any new manager and expect Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood to continue in their temporary position till the end of the season.

The Magpies put up a spirited display last weekend to hold Everton to a 0-0 draw even though they were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Kevin Nolan in the first half. Everton created a number of chances but the Magpies defense hung on to claim a vital point at Goodison Park.

 

 

Meanwhile Bolton Wanderers will be looking to build on their convincing win over West Ham United last weekend. The Trotters were in a comfortable position early in the game as two goals from two minutes from Matthew Taylor and Kevin Davies saw them take a 2-0 lead and though West Ham managed to reduce the deficit through Scott Parker, Bolton hung on to claim all three points from the tie.

The win sees Bolton climb to 12th in the league table, seven points clear of the relegation zone and fans will be optimistic of another three points on Sunday which will all but confirm Bolton's participation in the Premier League for another season.
