The Trotters sacked Gary Megson on Wednesday following a poor first half of the season that has seen the club collect just 18 points from their first 18 games. While Bolton are still in the relegation zone, they do have a game in hand over their immediate opponents.

First team coach Steve Wigley and assistant manager Chris Evans will be in charge of the club as the board searches for a suitable replacement. Gavin McCann and Danny Shittu are the two major injury concerns for Bolton and though they could recover in time for the game on Saturday, Megson is likely to leave the duo out in order to get them fit for the game against Arsenal next weekend.

Meanwhile Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton will be hoping that his side can maintain their good form in the competition and pull off an upset result at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday. The Imps have already beaten Telford United and Northwich Victoria 3-1 in the first two rounds and have already improved on their last season’s performance in the competition.
