Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce will be hoping that his words will prove to be true as he looks to register a second straight victory when they visit Bolton Wanderers on Sunday. A poor start to the season has seen Blackburn sit precariously close to the relegation zone. The Rovers have managed to collect just 13 points from their first 11 matches and sit just three points out of the drop zone.

While they are struggling badly for form, Allardyce will be hopeful that his side can build on their excellent performance against Portsmouth last weekend. Blackburn looked to be heading for another defeat after Portsmouth took the lead through Jamie O'Hara but a Ryan Nelsen goal sandwiched between Jason Roberts' brace helped them complete a superb comeback in the second half.

Allardyce has admitted that the next three months are crucial for his side and is confident that they can improve their form and move up the league table. Martin Olsson should be available for selection with the defender recovering from a virus illness while Vincenzo Grella has also recovered from a thigh injury.

Meanwhile Bolton Wanderers will be hoping to recover from heavy defeats in their recent matches and consolidate on their decent start to the season. Bolton have shipped in 13 goals in their last three matches including a heavy 5-1 defeat to Aston Villa in their last league game.

Manager Gary Megson expressed his disappointment over his side’s performances, especially from his defenders and will be expecting an improved performance from his side in a must win game on Sunday.

Bolton will be boosted by the return of Danny Shittu who has recovered from a hamstring injury along with Tamir Cohen.
