Bolton have also hit a trough in recent games having managed only one win in their last five games. Manager Gary Megson has targeted 40 points for the season and his team is one win away from achieving this target.

Emile Heskey had given Villa an early lead on 11 minutes, but Diego Tristan helped the Hammers draw level with an 85th minute strike.

 

 

Villa boss Martin O'Neill was left to rue his side's poor finishing that has seen them throw away a commanding lead over Arsenal. Villa trail the Gunners by 8 points and have 54 points from 33 games. O’Neill has fitness concerns over Gabriel Agbonlahor, who is struggling with a hamstring injury, while Wilfred Bouma and Steve Sidwell are out with ankle injuries. Carlos Cuellar is also a doubtful starter with a back injury.
