Bolton lost 3-1 to Sunderland in their last live premiership match. Goals from Kieran Richardson, Kenwyne Jones and Daryl Murphy helped Sunderland collect all three points. For Bolton, El-Hadji Diouf was the lone goal scorer.

Bolton manager Gary Megson would have been disappointed with his team's tame showing in the Sunderland game. Although Bolton are two places above the relegation zone, Megson will be aware that a couple of bad results could hurt the team, which is currently placed 16th on the Premiership table with 17 points from 20 games.

Derby County now appear to be resigned to life in the Championship. Manager Paul Jewell has in fact admitted that the Premiership is just a learning experience for his team. Derby are yet to register a point under Jewell's charge although they have come close on a couple of occasions.

Last time they were on course to securing a 1-1 draw against Liverpool when Steven Gerrard spoiled the party with a late winner. Last Sunday, the team was unlucky to lose to Blackburn Rovers despite taking a lead through Matt Oakley.

Goals from Roque Santa Cruz and David Bentley gave Blackburn the win. Derby have bottomed out in the Premier League with 7 points from 19 games. Derby also have a long injury list to worry about.

Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater is out with a shoulder injury as is Stephen Pearson, while Andy Griffin and Rob Earnshaw are struggling with calf muscle injuries. The return of Matt Oakley is a boost, but David Jones and Andy Todd are still doubtful.
