After a disappointing display against Bayern Munich, Italian giants AC Milan will hope to salvage some pride when they meet Boca Juniors in the third place playoff game at the Allianz Arena. Watch Boca Juniors v AC Milan live streaming on your control panel at Live Sport Network.

 

 

Boca lost 2-1 to Manchester United in their semifinal. The reigning Premier League champions took the lead through an exquisite free kick from Portuguese midfielder Anderson, who had never scored for United before. Ecuadorean winger Luis Valencia doubled United's lead just before half time.

Boca hit back strongly in the second half, and very nearly took the game beyond its normal time. First midfielder Federico Insua volleyed home a cross from Chavez ten minutes after half time. Martin Palermo then hit the crossbar with a powerfully struck header as United came under severe pressure in the second half. Unfortunately for Boca, they couldn't get the second goal they so desperately needed, and ended up losing 2-1.

 

 

AC Milan's poor pre-season continued as they were hammered 4-1 by hosts Bayern Munich in their semifinal. Although the scoreline was slightly harsh on the Rossoneri, Bayern deserved their victory. It was a fourth successive defeat for Milan after losses to Chelsea, Club America and Internazionale in the World Football Challenge.

Youngster Thomas Muller scored a brace for Bayern, with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Saer Sene adding the other two. Andrea Pirlo scored a consolation goal from Milan, although it was a strike Bayern keeper Michael Rensing should have managed to stop. Milan boss Leonardo attributed his side's poor performance to fatigue.
