The Rovers effectively had the last week off as their scheduled game against Fulham was cancelled after referee Rob Styles deemed the playing surface at Craven Cottage posed a danger to the players.

Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear has ruled out selling any players as he says it would weaken the team as well as their survival chances. Last week the Magpies came from behind to hold West Ham to a 2-2 draw after Craig Bellamy and Carlton Cole had put the Hammers in command. Michael Owen pulled one back and Andy Carroll scored his first Premier League goal in the 78th minute to give them a point. The draw keeps Newcastle on the 11th spot with 23 points from 21 games.
