Arsenal shrugged off their indifferent start to the season with convincing victory over FC Twente in the Champions League and a 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League. Arsenal looked be back to their best against Newcastle, dominating the match from start to finish with some slick passing moves that had earned them much adulation last season.

 

 

Robin Van Persie showed glimpses of his quality as he slammed home two goals in the match but will have to make sure that he remains fit if he is to win back a large number of fans who are skeptical of the Dutch striker's consistency for the club.

Blackburn Rovers on the other hand will have to improve on their last performance against West Ham if they are to have any hopes of getting at least a point out of their clash against Arsenal. Though West Ham scored two goals late in injury time, Ince will be disappointed by his side's display at Upton Park and will be hoping that his players will put up a better performance this Saturday.

 

 

David Dunn and Roque Santa Cruz face a race to be fit for the clash with both the players suffering from calf injuries though Ince will be confident that they will be able to pull through and get back to full fitness before the match.

Blackburn had held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season with Dunn cancelling out an early strike by Van Persie and Ince will be pleased if his side manages to repeat the performance this weekend.
