Derby County seem destined to create a new record for securing the lowest points in a Premier League season as they have two tough games and still need four points to equal Sunderland's 15 points, which are the lowest to date.

Blackburn welcome Derby fresh from some much needed wins lately. The Rovers bounced back nicely from their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool and have held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw and beaten Portsmouth 1-0. Manager Mark Hughes will be delighted to see his team show some spunk toward the end of a difficult season.

Last week Roque Santa Cruz was the goal scorer as the Rovers humbled Pompey 1-0. The win took Blackburn to 55 points from 36 games. The Rovers have no fresh injury worries with Matt Derbyshire the only absentee as he faces a hernia operation.

Derby County have begun preparing for life in the Championship next season,. Manager Paul Jewell has two more games to endure before he can plan about their Championship assault.

Last Monday Derby were trashed 6-2 by Arsenal with Emmanuel Adebayor scoring a hat trick and Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner and Robin Van Persie grabbing a goal each. James McEveley and Robert Earnshaw were Derby's goal scorers.

March Edworthy, Claude Davis and Giles Barnes continue to remain sidelined, while David Jones will have to pass a fitness test for this game. Earlier this season, Blackburn defeated Derby 2-1 away from home.
