After a brilliant run of form in the first half of the season, Birmingham’s form has dipped with the club managing just one win from their last five games. The Blues have collected just two points from their last three games and while they are still comfortably placed eighth in the league, manager Alex McLeish will be aware that his side will have to start winning if they are to consolidate on their good performance so far.

New signing Craig Gardner is expected to make his debut for Birmingham after making it only to the bench for the game against Tottenham last weekend. The Blues could also be boosted by the return of Teemu Tainio with the midfielder recovering from his knee injury.

Meanwhile Wolves coach Mick McCarthy will be hopeful that his side can finally register a league win after managing to collect just two points from their last five games. Wolves are currently sitting just outside the drop zone but McCarthy will be aware that his side can ill afford any slip ups as the action enters the final third of the season.
