After their long unbeaten run of form, the Blues have now lost three of their last five matches including defeats to West Ham and Fulham in their last two games. While there is no danger of a relegation battle, manager Alex McLeish will be hoping that his side can return back to winning ways as he looks to maintain their challenge for a top half finish.

Birmingham go into the match on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat last weekend. The Blues had taken the lead thanks to an own goal by Chris Baird but two goals in the second half, including an injury time winner by Bobby Zamora meant that Birmingham returned empty handed. Garry O'Connor and Lee Carsley are both out of action for at least a couple of weeks while Teemu Tainio is a major doubt with the midfielder yet to recover from his knee injury.

Meanwhile Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez will be hopeful that his side can put up a good performance and come away with at least a point from the game. The Latics are without a win in their last six matches and find themselves just two points above the drop zone.
