The Gunners are currently second in the league table, just two points behind league leaders Manchester United and have the easiest run in to the end of the season among the three title rivals. With his side playing well since defeats to United and Chelsea, manager Arsene Wenger will be optimistic that his side can finally snap out of their trophy-less streak and lift their first league title in six years.

Arsenal go into the match on the back of a comfortable 2-0 win over West Ham last weekend with Denilson and Cesc Fabregas hitting the back of the net. The Gunners could be without Thomas Vermaelen who was sent off against West Ham even though Arsenal have appealed against the red card.

Meanwhile Birmingham City will be hoping to make use of their home advantage and collect at least a point against Arsenal. While European qualification is increasingly looking unlikely, manager Alex McLeish will be happy if his side can consolidate their position inside the top half of the league table.
