Besiktas are languishing at the bottom of the group having lost two of the three games played so far and managing to draw the other one. The latest draw came against Wolfsburg away from home on Matchday 3.

The Turkish club have had a torrid time so far this season in Europe. On Matchday 1 they lost at home by a narrow 0-1 margin to Manchester United. That was followed by a 1-2 loss away from home to CSKA Moscow on Matchday 2 before they managed to notch up their first points of the season last fortnight. Coach Mustafa Denizli has reiterated his side's desire to make it to the next stage, but that would be next to impossible if they fail to win this one.

Meanwhile VFL Wolfsburg are enjoying a fine outing in their maiden season in Europe's elite competition. The German champions began their campaign with a 3-1 win at home over CSKA Moscow before succumbing to a 1-2 loss at Manchester United.

Last fortnight they were frustrated at home by Besiktas and will hope to gain revenge this time around. Wolfsburg coach Armin Veh will hope his side can book a place in the next round by winning this one and easing pressure off themselves in the last two games.
