After losing 2-1 to French champions Bordeaux on Wednesday night in the Champions League, Bayern Munich return to league action this weekend as they host Eintracht Frankfurt in a Week 10 clash at the Allianz Arena. Bayern had two men sent off in France as Bordeaux leapt to the top of the table by beating them 2-1 at Chaban Delmas. Michael Ciani put Bayern ahead with an own goal on six minutes, but the defender atoned for that error by equalising for Bordeaux in the 29^th minute. Bayern were reduced to ten men when Thomas Muller was sent off a minute after Ciani’s equaliser. Bordeaux made their advantage count eleven minutes later when Marc Planus put them 2-1 ahead.

Yoann Gourcuff and Jussie both missed penalties for Bordeaux in the second half, but fortunately for the home side, they did not affect the result of the game. Bayern beat SC Freiburg 2-1 in Week 9. Muller broke Bayern’s 315 minute scoring drought in the 41^st minute, and an own goal from Cha Du Ri gave Bayern three vital points away from home.

Frankfurt are just two points behind Bayern in the league table going into this game. They claimed their first home win of the season last week when they beat Hannover 96 2-1. Nikos Liberopoulos and Alexander Meier were the scorers for Frankfurt.

Selim Teber missed the Hannover game due to suspension, but is expected to return to the starting XI for the Bayern game. Marco Russ and Pirmin Schwegler also missed the Hannover game. Frankfurt will again meet Bayern in four days’ time after this game, but in the DFB Pokal.
